hi guys, trying to use my own linux headers and i've found the option but having trouble with specifying a relative path. Where is the extraction being attempted from? |

hi guys trying to get crosstool-ng building uclibc with kernel headers from 2.16.12 and I've run into an issue during installation of the c library. i get a error: asm/unistd.h: No such file or directory |
# 19:47:40 |
hank__ |
any suggestions how to debug this? |
# 19:48:46 |
imMute |
probably missing that asm symlink |
# 19:52:40 |
hank__ |
ok |
# 19:52:51 |
hank__ |
so during the build process it symlinks everything? |
# 19:54:50 |
hank__ |
ah ok i think its during the symlinking process |
# 19:55:18 |
hank__ |
does the asm folder come from the linux headers? |
# 19:58:33 |
imMute |
no, I mean the linux header tree has symlinks for the asm directory to point at the specific directory corresponding to the CPU. |
# 19:59:13 |
hank__ |
ah ok |
# 20:00:07 |

and if i have my own kernel headers packed up in a tar.bz2 should it only include the include/ dir? |
# 20:00:21 |
hank__ |
or linux-2.6.16/include |

hank__: look at the help entry for KERNEL_LINUX_CUSTOM_IS_TARBALL. It explains how the tarball or the directory should be prepared. |
# 21:36:50 |

hank__: Also, you will want to use older versions of gcc and glibc, because more recent versions will not work with such ancient kernel headers. |
# 21:37:21 |

hank__: Hence its being hiden behind the OBSOLETE option. |
# 21:46:20 |

ah ok |

at work now will give it a go when i get home |
