crosstool-ng is not an option for older kernels like 2.6.9 because they lack "make headers_install" directive http://ideone.com/uCVUn , is there another way to do this with crosstool-ng, can the kernel source be patched somehow ? |
# 11:58:08 |
y_morin |
Kasreyn: The only possible option is to use the long-deprecated linux-libc-headers: http://ep09.pld-linux.org/~mmazur/linux-libc-headers/ (and you're lucky that there's a corresponding 2.6.9 version available). |

Kasreyn: What is the reason you are stuck with such an ante-diluvian kernel? You should upgrade. If you are dependant on a third party to provide you with the kernel, then you should really bug them to upgrade. |
# 12:04:52 |
Kasreyn |
y_morin: thanks. i found CT_KERNEL_LINUX_USE_CUSTOM_HEADERS in scripts/build/kernel/linux.sh but how can it be set? and yes.. we should bug our 3rd party MOXA more. |
# 12:09:11 |
Kasreyn |
oh.. they are environment variables.. so CT_KERNEL_LINUX_CUSTOM_PATH=/my/path ./ctng build should work? :) |
# 12:10:44 |
Kasreyn |
or.. just download the tarball from http://ep09.pld-linux.org/~mmazur/linux-libc-headers/ i'll try that first |
# 12:11:05 |
y_morin |
Kasreyn: You have to set it in the menuconfig: ct-ng menuconfig Then navigate to the Kernel sub-menu. |
