how to fix that? |

arm...sorry..(^_^) |
# 14:41:40 |

i search on internet. no one tired build kernel on arm(arm phones, like android phone) |
# 14:42:04 |
Hamsten |
but arm cpu have enough ability to build that |
# 14:42:05 |
Hamsten |
so i want to try it |
# 14:47:16 |

no one reply.. |
# 14:47:17 |

!!! |
# 14:50:02 |
Hamsten |
sorry for my english...i am still studying that in school.. |
# 14:51:34 |
derRichard |
Hamsten: so, all you want is a arm kernel? |
# 14:51:53 |
derRichard |
then use a prebuilt gcc for arm. i.e. https://www.kernel.org/pub/tools/crosstool/ |
# 14:52:33 |
derRichard |
build the kernel using "make YOUR_BOARD_defconfig ARCH=arm" and then "make CROSS_BUILD=YOUR_CC_PREFIX-" |
# 14:52:37 |
Hamsten |
i want is build a arm kernel on arm |
# 14:53:15 |
derRichard |
then install your distro gcc |
# 14:53:21 |
derRichard |
no need to use crosstool at all |
# 14:54:11 |
Hamsten |
i tired....cannt build |
# 14:54:36 |

so i want to try use crosstool |
# 14:55:31 |

the tool is for building _cross_ compilers. not native ones. IIRC building native ones is beta |

yes, crosstool is for building cross compilers |

is it x86 make a crosstool for x86 |

run x86 |

and use that crosstool build kernel |
# 15:04:12 |

it could do it,is it |
# 15:06:22 |

now. arm's kernel source is for build on pc and use crosstool |

it is diffcult to build kernel on arm |

Hi there, I recently built a cross compiler (target arm/bare-metal) which works quite fine, but I seem to loose all debug information after linking. Neither objdump -S -l nor gdb manages to show me C code. Did I forgot an option during the menuconfig ? |
# 16:07:45 |

(the information are in the .o files, but not in the .elf file after linking) |

sh4rm4: my makefile only calls arm-unknown-eabi-gcc. Do you know if there is a config option that would automatically make gcc call strip ? |
