# 08:57:31 daggs1-work greetings, is there a way to create multi bitness cross compiler using ct-ng?
# 09:06:38 perr quits : Ping timeout: 240 seconds
# 09:15:32 memleak multi bitness? like -m32 + -m64 support AIO?
# 09:18:11 memleak as in multilib?
# 09:20:40 perr joins #crosstool-ng
# 09:24:52 daggs1-work greetings memleak, I have a 64 bit cross compiler created with ct-ng, when I'm trying to compile using the -m32 switch I get a missing headers error, I can solve it but I think that the next errors will be lib related, I wanted to know if there is possibility to create a crosscompiler that can produce both 32 and 64 bins
# 09:26:34 memleak to solve missing headers error you might need to install stubs-32.h or whatever
# 09:27:40 daggs1-work I assumed that, but what about the possible missing libs?
# 09:41:19 daggs1-work as said, got skipping incompatible and ld error
# 09:51:57 memleak is the host system 32 or 64?
# 09:52:10 memleak if 64, install a mutlilib package for your distro
# 09:52:34 memleak i.e. glibc-i686 and 32-bit versions of required libraries
# 09:52:37 memleak should work fine
# 09:52:42 memleak (and headers of course)
# 09:52:42 perr quits : Ping timeout: 244 seconds
# 09:53:17 memleak best way to fix it is to switch over to pure 64-bit hardware :P
# 09:53:45 memleak no multilib / 32 necessary :) hey daggs1-work im going to bed now, its almost 5 am
# 09:54:00 memleak good night man!

# 20:56:15 daggs1-work y_morin, greetings
# 20:58:48 y_morin daggs1-work: Hello!
# 20:59:40 daggs1-work y_morin, what's up?
# 21:01:02 y_morin daggs1-work: Same old, same old. Trying to take over the world, as usual... :-)

# 21:01:46 daggs1-work so which one are you? Pinki or the Brain?
# 21:02:50 y_morin daggs1-work: Pinky! He's so much funnier! :-)
# 21:03:06 daggs1-work :)
# 21:03:32 daggs1-work y_morin, I was wondering, what is the status of x86 multilib crosscompiler creation
# 21:04:13 y_morin bhundven: ^^^^
# 21:04:30 y_morin daggs1-work: bhundven and co are working on this.
# 21:04:54 y_morin Argh, no more music! Argh!...
# 21:05:59 y_morin Music's back. Good! :-)
# 21:06:16 daggs1-work is there any known instace working? I tried creating an x86_64 multilib but got up until TLS support error when building libc
# 21:07:34 y_morin daggs1-work: There's an MQ there: https://bitbucket.org/bhundven/crosstool-ng-multilib
# 21:07:47 y_morin daggs1-work: Not sure it's up to date, but should be pretty recent.
# 21:09:12 daggs1-work mmm how do you use it?
# 21:11:05 y_morin daggs1-work: hg qclone -p https://bitbucket.org/bhundven/crosstool-ng-multilib http://crosstool-ng.org/hg/crosstool-ng
# 21:11:47 y_morin daggs1-work: Will get you a fresh clone of crostool-NG, and a clone of the MQ itself.
# 21:11:51 y_morin daggs1-work: Then: hg qpush -a
# 21:14:36 mingwandroid joins #crosstool-ng
# 21:15:12 daggs1-work my mh doens't qclone option
# 21:16:00 y_morin daggs1-work: You need to add to your ~/.hgrc:
# 21:16:02 y_morin [extensions]
# 21:16:03 daggs1-work s/mh/hg/
# 21:16:06 y_morin mq =
# 21:16:12 y_morin [extensions]
# 21:16:13 y_morin mq =
# 21:16:31 y_morin daggs1-work: Add those two line ^^^ to your ~/.hgrc
# 21:17:09 daggs1-work ok, qclone is working now
# 21:18:27 daggs1-work y_morin, got this, is it ok? http://pastebin.com/86X1tdvG
# 21:20:23 y_morin daggs1-work: Obviously not. You need to properly setup Mercurial: http://code.bulix.org/xb9qf2-85817
# 21:21:00 daggs1-work btw, is there a gcc limitation for that
# 21:24:57 y_morin daggs1-work: What did you mean? A limitation of gcc at being able to generate an x86 multilib? Not that I know of. But there might be gotchas I'm not aware of.
# 21:25:30 y_morin daggs1-work: bhundven might be able to answer better than I would about this, since he's more involved in multilib than I am.
# 21:25:32 daggs1-work there is a file named limit_multilib_to_gcc_4_7_and_up
# 21:25:47 daggs1-work that made me think as I need to use gcc 4.6.0
# 21:26:10 daggs1-work also where do I input the line in bulix?
# 21:26:55 y_morin daggs1-work: Uh? bulix is just a pastebin like the others. You should put that in your ~/.hgrc
# 21:27:17 daggs1-work that what I've assumed
# 21:30:53 daggs1-work I'm off to bed, good night all
# 21:31:03 daggs1-work y_morin, thanks for the help
# 21:31:20 y_morin daggs1-work: Cheers! Night!
# 21:36:42 memleak y_morin, about git :P
# 21:38:04 memleak i tried making you some patches earlier but mercurial is a pain in the gluteus maximus
# 21:41:42 y_morin memleak: Howdy! I used to say the same about git! :-)
# 21:42:27 y_morin memleak: Otherwise, it's pretty easy: hg email --to 'crossgcc@....' --outgoing
# 21:42:39 memleak yeah i kept getting errors
# 21:42:46 memleak after following all the guides docs and man pages
# 21:42:48 y_morin memleak: That will send all changesets in your tree that are not upstream, to the crossgcc mailing list
# 21:43:01 y_morin memleak: Oh, can you pastebin the issues?
# 21:43:19 memleak address family not supported by protocol
# 21:43:27 y_morin What.
# 21:43:36 memleak yes :)
# 21:43:57 y_morin memleak: CAn you just run 'hg email blablab...' and pastebin the full output, please?
# 21:44:55 memleak pastebin.ca/2653475
# 21:45:34 memleak i tried hundreds of different hg email strings
# 21:45:46 memleak that was just one of the... idk hours of trying random stuff
# 21:46:47 y_morin memleak: Geez... No idea... :-(
# 21:47:28 memleak heh!
# 21:47:42 memleak its ok ill just wait for the switch
# 21:50:28 y_morin memleak: That message usually means your kernel does not have IP configured in, or that you have a IPv4/v6 mismatch configuration (eg. an IPv4 smtp server on an IPv6 only machine, or the other way around).
# 21:55:27 memleak i like how git doesnt need any fancy kernel configs
