greetings memleak, I have a 64 bit cross compiler created with ct-ng, when I'm trying to compile using the -m32 switch I get a missing headers error, I can solve it but I think that the next errors will be lib related, I wanted to know if there is possibility to create a crosscompiler that can produce both 32 and 64 bins |
# 09:26:34 |
memleak |
to solve missing headers error you might need to install stubs-32.h or whatever |
# 09:27:40 |
daggs1-work |
I assumed that, but what about the possible missing libs? |
# 09:41:19 |
daggs1-work |
as said, got skipping incompatible and ld error |
# 09:51:57 |
memleak |
is the host system 32 or 64? |
# 09:52:10 |
memleak |
if 64, install a mutlilib package for your distro |
# 09:52:34 |
memleak |
i.e. glibc-i686 and 32-bit versions of required libraries |
# 09:52:37 |
memleak |
should work fine |
# 09:52:42 |
memleak |
(and headers of course) |
# 09:52:42 |

best way to fix it is to switch over to pure 64-bit hardware :P |

no multilib / 32 necessary :) hey daggs1-work im going to bed now, its almost 5 am |

is there any known instace working? I tried creating an x86_64 multilib but got up until TLS support error when building libc |
# 21:07:34 |
y_morin |
daggs1-work: There's an MQ there: https://bitbucket.org/bhundven/crosstool-ng-multilib |
# 21:07:47 |
y_morin |
daggs1-work: Not sure it's up to date, but should be pretty recent. |
# 21:09:12 |

mmm how do you use it? |
# 21:11:05 |
y_morin |
daggs1-work: hg qclone -p https://bitbucket.org/bhundven/crosstool-ng-multilib http://crosstool-ng.org/hg/crosstool-ng |
# 21:11:47 |
y_morin |
daggs1-work: Will get you a fresh clone of crostool-NG, and a clone of the MQ itself. |
# 21:11:51 |

# 21:18:27 |
daggs1-work |
y_morin, got this, is it ok? http://pastebin.com/86X1tdvG |
# 21:20:23 |
y_morin |
daggs1-work: Obviously not. You need to properly setup Mercurial: http://code.bulix.org/xb9qf2-85817 |
# 21:21:00 |
daggs1-work |
btw, is there a gcc limitation for that |
# 21:24:57 |
y_morin |
daggs1-work: What did you mean? A limitation of gcc at being able to generate an x86 multilib? Not that I know of. But there might be gotchas I'm not aware of. |
# 21:25:30 |
y_morin |
daggs1-work: bhundven might be able to answer better than I would about this, since he's more involved in multilib than I am. |
# 21:25:32 |
daggs1-work |
there is a file named limit_multilib_to_gcc_4_7_and_up |
# 21:25:47 |
daggs1-work |
that made me think as I need to use gcc 4.6.0 |
# 21:26:10 |
daggs1-work |
also where do I input the line in bulix? |
# 21:26:55 |
y_morin |
daggs1-work: Uh? bulix is just a pastebin like the others. You should put that in your ~/.hgrc |
# 21:27:17 |
