hi. is there a way to tell crosstool-ng to use gcc-5 for building and not the gcc binary? |
# 18:51:28 |

TobiasFar: what do you mean by 'not the gcc binary' ? why do you need to use a specific gcc version to build the other toolchain? |
# 18:52:48 |
TobiasFar |
trying to use crosstool-ng on OS X, and my system has a /usr/bin/gcc(g++) linked to clang(clang++), i've installed gcc-5 in /usr/local/bin and wondered whether i can tell it to use the gcc-5 and g++5 binary |
# 18:56:10 |

TobiasFar: apparently there is not an option for that, in some places 'gcc' from your PATH is used directly, best bet would probably be to change the PATH or use it in a chroot or something. I don't really know anything about OSX or how supported it will be even if you get past this. |

enunes, yup..thought there wasn't an option...created symlinks in /usr/local/bin from gcc to gcc-5 and g++ to g++-5 and added /usr/local/bin in front of my path |

now crosstool ng calls gcc 5 :) i hope that works better |
