cpackham: link seems to be a bit unstable? |
# 05:06:21 |
cpackham |
yeah running irc client from my laptop so it's connecting/disconnecting sparodically |
# 05:06:57 |
cpackham |
that's why I was using the matrix bridge as I could connect/disconnect from that and it wouldn't spam the irc channel |
# 05:07:35 |

also managed to keep history |

ah. |

btw. did you see a note I made in a closed issue regarding crypt? |
# 05:17:16 |
cpackham |
yes I saw that |
# 05:18:13 |
milkylainen |
ok. any thoughts? |
# 05:18:59 |
cpackham |
Yeah I agree having some kind of OBSOLETE_CRYPT option makes sense, even if it's not needed for the libsanitizer issue |
# 05:19:18 |
cpackham |
as you say it'll take some time for people to migrate to libxcrypt |
# 05:19:23 |
cpackham |
if they ever do |
# 05:20:31 |
milkylainen |
Yeah. I was primarily thinking of like older (in the future) build envs. Carrying a glibc and wanting to bump toolchain bits, but getting stuck on crypt missing. |

I guess people in regular distros will find a easier way around the problem. |
# 05:22:59 |
cpackham |
Most distros are already packaging libxcrypt so they're good to go. Not sure about other embedded system builders. I know $dayjob will probably need to add it |
# 05:24:04 |

I was planning on having a look at it after I try out Krill's fix for the make dist issue. Maybe in the next couple of days unless someone else beats me to it |

I'm off for now, expect some connection spam (thinks: must try this ircclould thing) |
# 05:31:24 |

Sounds good. Let me know if I can be of help. Take care! |

$dayjob embedded btw. :) |
