2008-08-26Enable glibc to include support for kernel versions different than the ↵Yann E. MORIN"1-2/+2
version from the kernel headers. Thanks to Nate CASE <ncase@xes-inc.com> for suggesting this use-case, and providing the patch. /trunk/scripts/build/libc_glibc.sh | 4 2 2 0 +- /trunk/scripts/build/libc_eglibc.sh | 2 1 1 0 +- /trunk/config/libc/glibc-eglibc-common.in | 44 44 0 0 +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ 3 files changed, 47 insertions(+), 3 deletions(-)
2008-07-31Have the glibc build use the cross-objdump, rather than the host one.Yann E. MORIN"1-16/+21
On some distros (eg. Fedora), the native objdump can not interpret objects not for the native system, and thus fail. This commit adds a new patch against glibc-2.7 that introduces OBJDUMP_FOR_HOST, wich, if set, overides the detected objdump. Note: bizarely enough, glibc already has code to detect the cross-objdump, but that does not work for an unknown reason... :-( /trunk/patches/glibc/2.7/220-objdump_for_host.patch | 13 13 0 0 +++++++++ /trunk/scripts/build/libc_glibc.sh | 37 21 16 0 +++++++++++++++------------ 2 files changed, 34 insertions(+), 16 deletions(-)

2008-05-20Get rid of all `command` (which is a bashism), and replace them with ↵Yann E. MORIN"1-25/+25
$(command), which is POSIX. Get rid of all remaining \"text\" in log messages and replace them with 'text'. 2008-05-03Some people are reposrting that ftp does not work on their network, probably ↵Yann E. MORIN"1-2/+2
due to proxies, while http does work. Some (most) of the sites we use toretrieve tarballs have http equivallent for the ftp service. Use http as a failover. There's no solution for those sites that do not have such an http equivalent. /trunk/scripts/build/binutils.sh | 5 2 3 0 ++--- /trunk/scripts/build/libc_glibc.sh | 4 2 2 0 ++-- /trunk/scripts/build/libc_uClibc.sh | 2 1 1 0 +- /trunk/scripts/build/debug/400-ltrace.sh | 2 1 1 0 +- /trunk/scripts/build/debug/300-gdb.sh | 8 3 5 0 +++----- /trunk/scripts/build/kernel_linux.sh | 7 2 5 0 ++----- /trunk/scripts/build/cc_gcc.sh | 6 2 4 0 ++---- /trunk/scripts/build/gmp.sh | 4 1 3 0 +--- 8 files changed, 14 insertions(+), 24 deletions(-)

2007-11-02Fix from Marco Fonseca <mfonseca@fortresstech.com> to use the newly-built, ↵Yann E. MORIN"1-3/+3
bootstrap cross-compiler when installing glibc headers.
2007-09-15Further improve the architecture-specific framework.Yann E. MORIN"1-10/+7
Apply this framework into building of glibc and gcc. (Whoo! 500th commit! Yeah!)
2007-09-14Migrate all supported architectures to use the architecture-specific framework.Yann E. MORIN"1-12/+2
2007-08-15Warn when using -pipe with glibc>=2.6.Yann E. MORIN"1-0/+2
2007-08-15Get rid of the core cc selection. It is now the same as the final compiler.Yann E. MORIN"1-1/+1
2007-08-12Don't use -pipe when building glibc>=2.6: ./configure chokes on it.Yann E. MORIN"1-6/+20
(This is because "gcc -pipe --help" doesn't print what it should print).
2007-08-03A little cleanup in the glibc's pthread headers install.Yann E. MORIN"1-2/+5
2007-07-22Fix installing a glibc header for those archs that are in ports.Yann E. MORIN"1-0/+3
2007-07-07Silence "which" being verbose in some distros. (eg. Mandriva's which spawns ↵Yann E. MORIN"1-3/+3
"foobar was not found in /bin:/usr/bin:...." directly on stderr)
2007-06-16Fix printing components' file names.Yann E. MORIN"1-2/+2
2007-06-16Add a function to print each component's filename: this eases building the ↵Yann E. MORIN"1-0/+10
tarball of the generated toolchain. Hard-link the libfloat tarball instead of soft-link: this also eases building the afore-mentioned tarball.
2007-06-02scripts/build/libc_glibc.sh:Yann E. MORIN"1-50/+43
- clean up addons list creation, - make NPTL work again with this.
2007-05-27Merge the NPTL stuff.Yann E. MORIN"1-33/+184
That still leaves the linuxthreads stuff broken, but it was just before. I don't care anyway. Time to fix that later...
2007-05-08Huge fixes to glibc build, so that we can build at least (and at last):Yann E. MORIN"1-24/+38
- use ports addon even when installing headers, - use optimisation (-O) when installing headers, to avoid unnecessary warnings (thanks Robert P. J. DAY for pointing this out!), - lowest kernel version to use is only X.Y.Z, not X.Y.Z.T, - a bit of preparations for NPTL (RSN I hope), - fix fixing the linker scripts (changing the backup file is kind of useless and stupid); Shut uClibc finish step: there really is nothing to do; Add a patch for glibc-2.3.6 weak aliases handling on some archs (ARM and ALPHA at least); Did not catch the make errors: fixed the pattern matching in scripts/functions; Introduce a new log level, ALL: - send components' build messages there, - DEBUG log level is destined only for crosstool-NG debug messages, - migrate sub-actions to use appropriate log levels; Update the armeb-unknown-linux-gnu sample: - it builds! - uses gcc-4.0.4 and glibc-2.3.6, - updated to latest config options set.
2007-05-08Bah. Be silent when there is nothing to do: glibc has no config (file) to check.Yann E. MORIN"1-3/+1
2007-05-07Fix glibc and uClibc downloading and extracting.Yann E. MORIN"1-1/+5
Although we no longer need the kernel config file, we now need to specify the kernel source directory when installing headers. Re-order components downloading to match build order. Fix the saveSample.sh script in case the referenced files are the same as the destination files.
2007-05-07Merge the save-sample branch to trunk:Yann E. MORIN"1-2/+30
- reorder most of the environment setup, - geting, extracting and patching are now components' sub-actions, - save the current config as a sample to be used as a pre-configured target.
2007-02-24Add the full crosstool-NG sources to the new repository of its own.Yann E. MORIN"1-0/+285
You might just say: 'Yeah! crosstool-NG's got its own repo!". Unfortunately, that's because the previous repo got damaged beyond repair and I had no backup. That means I'm putting backups in place in the afternoon. That also means we've lost history... :-(
